đź’¸ Is Expensive Skincare Really Worth It?
Spoiler: Not really.
Somewhere along the way, skincare became a luxury sport — 10-step routines, $200 creams, and serums that sound more like science experiments than self-care. But here’s the truth: you don’t need to spend a fortune to have great skin.
The most important thing you can do is get to know your skin. Everyone’s different — what works for your best friend or favorite influencer might not work for you. If you can, visit a dermatologist once to understand your skin type and what ingredients you actually need. And if your budget allows, get facials regularly (even every few months). They do so much more for your skin than another overpriced serum.
For me, my routine is simple and affordable:
🌞 AM: SPF (always, non-negotiable) + a good hydrating moisturizer
🌙 PM: Gentle retinol + the same moisturizer + lip balm
✨ And my one splurge? The Lumiellé Exfoliant — it’s worth every penny.
That’s it. No 10 steps. No complicated layering. Just products that work — and all under $30 (except my exfoliant).

Gal Off Duty Tips 🧴
1. Less is more. Your skin doesn’t need everything — it needs consistency.
2. Hydration + SPF = glow. Never skip sunscreen, no matter the weather.
3. Know your ingredients. Learn what your skin actually benefits from.
4. Invest in pros, not hype. A facial or derm visit will do more than a “miracle” cream ever could.
5. Stick to what works. If your skin’s happy, don’t chase the next trend.
