✨ Traveling to NYC with Fred ✨

Fred loves a martini and oysters at Lure Fishbar

Even though Fred is a service dog and always flies in the cabin with me, I still book pet-friendly hotels in New York. It just makes everything smoother. NYC has been amazing — people really know their service dog laws, and Fred? He’s basically a celebrity on the streets of Manhattan 🐩🖤.

Fred loves to shop.

If you’re planning to bring your pup to the city, here are my go-to tips:

   •    Book pet-friendly hotels anyway 🏨 — Even if your dog is a service animal, it’s much easier when the hotel already has the setup (dog bowls, grass pads, pet-friendly floors). Fred thoroughly enjoyed his stay at the Andaz 5th Avenue!

    •    Know your airline rules ✈️ — For service dogs, they travel in the cabin with you. Always double-check with your airline; Delta, for example, has been super accommodating with Fred.

    •    Walk it out 🚶‍♀️ — Central Park is a must. It’s not only magical but also the best way to let your pup burn energy before a busy day.

    •    Plan your dining stops 🍝🍸 — Most restaurants will welcome your service dog without hesitation, but it’s nice to give them a heads-up when you make a Resy reservation.  Lure Fishbar is a must for a martini, celeb spotting, and Fred approves!  Rezdora NYC is my go to spot for pasta + vino!

    •    Coffee breaks are for both of you ☕🐾 — Grab a latte at Sip & Co while your pup gets attention from every passerby.

    •    Pack smart 🎒 — Bring collapsible bowls, wipes, and your dog’s favorite treats for subway or Uber rides.

    •    Embrace the celebrity factor ✨ — Walking around with a poodle in a continental cut? Get ready to stop for photos!

NYC is one of the most dog-friendly cities I’ve experienced, and traveling here with Fred always feels like an adventure.

Cheers & Martinis,
